This article lists all welding schools in Mississippi with their contact information.

We will get to the list in a second.

In order for you to maximize the utility of the list, you should already have some sort of idea of what kind of welding jobs you would like to do in the future. Do you like precise work like gas tungsten arc welding? Or maybe you like a more approachable welding process like gas metal arc welding.

Are you into pipe welding or you don’t have any special preferences when it comes to your future welding career?

Knowing these things will help you narrow down your choice because there are many welding schools and they all have their degree programs. A program can have classes that are a match made in heaven for a specific welding job or it can provide training that doesn’t maximize your chances of success at a particular career path.

My advice is to find a school with a program that matches your future job needs as much as possible. Even if you don’t get the job you want right after graduation, you will be closer to it than if you had studied some other program. If your study focus was pipe welding, you can still work in fab and welding shops but you will always have it easier to switch to what you wanted in the first place – pipe welding.

Average welders salary in Mississippi

Welders in Mississippi earn on average $44,340 according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. This is not the highest salary the welders can get. There are many US states where welders have a significantly higher average annual salary.

Average hourly rate for welders in Mississippi is $17,83 by the data reported by indeed.com. The highest paying employers in this state are Toyota that pays an average of $40,63 per hour and McDermott with $36,11 an hour.

The pay you get will largely depend on the economic factors of the area you work in and your skills and experience as a welder. So don’t take these numbers as definite but more as guideline expectations.

Conclusion

It doesn’t matter if you just want to learn simple stuff like shielded metal arc welding for hobby needs or you are looking at serious welder technology training and classes. Colleges are often more focused on higher welder education that includes advanced theoretical applications while trade schools are usually more focused on hands on work with students in their welder training.
